"Having lived in California all of our lives, purchased 4 homes, and having built 1 ourselves, we were unprepared for some of the issues that apparently can occur in Colorado that we never encountered in California. Six months after purchasing our new home, we noticed that the patio was sinking, and the siding was cracked and pulled down with the concrete. Shortly after, we saw that the porch area was having the same issue. Upon calling Journey Homes, I was put in touch with Larry. There was some discussion on whether these problems were under warranty or not. I am pleased to say that Larry sent out a warranty person to check things out, and Journey ended up taking care of the patio, the porch, and even ended up replacing a section of the driveway that had cracked. I have come to understand that concrete settling is a problem here, and difficult to prevent. My impression was that the original contractor did not do an adequate job of mitigating the potential problem. Whether or not I am correct in that impression, one thing is certain: JOURNEY HOMES SAW A PROBLEM, AND TOOK CARE OF IT. They made things right. I know personally of the many things that have a potential of problems during new construction, and getting a contractor to come out and fix that problem after the fact. But, hats off to Journey Homes for taking care of things the best they could."
